My Approach

My Approach

I chose the name Calathea - pronounced  (kal- uh- thee - uh) because Calathea is a type of houseplant that symbolizes ‘new beginnings’ and ‘turning over a new leaf.’ Calathea plants will literally turn over new leaves at night.

This represents my own approach to therapy as I believe each individual has the ability to turn over a new leaf and start again, especially when it feels dark and as though nothing will change.

When working with clients my approach focuses on identifying each individual's unique qualities, strengths and connecting to their inner resilience. I use a variety of modalities and would describe my approach as Eclectic and Person - Centered.

I recognize that beginning therapy is not always easy, this is why I offer a 10 minute consultation so we can connect and see if we are a good fit. Feel free to reach out! I look forward to hearing from you.
